What are risks with low blood pressure?
I always hear about the concerns of high blood pressure, but what do you do with low blood pressure? I don't think mine is abnormally low for me though as it is always around 80/40 but still are there any health risks with blood pressure lower than the normal? I am 5ft and I don't know I think 97 pounds (I've also heard low blood pressure is common in small females before; why is that?)....thanks

Yes —- There are concerns with low BP — They are not the same though — Low BP could mean the heart isnt ejecting the the normal bloood flow — Your numbers are low…. You need a doctor to look at the information……

It may be more common in small females because the heart doesn’t have to pump as hard to supply circulation. If you don’t experience dizziness when going from a lying down to sitting or standing position, and your extremities are not cold or bluish finger tips than your BP is adequate.
It becomes a problem when the pressure is not enough to sustain a good circulation and the above mentioned symptoms would be evident and can be accompanied by an elevated heart rate.
In cases of fluid or blood loss low blood pressure then becomes a serious medical emergency.

Low blood pressure isn’t a problem unless it’s too low to supply your body with oxygen. The lowest you can go, supposedly, and perfuse (feed your organs with blood and oxygen) is 80/40, however, I have low blood pressure and I function fine.
Technically, your size has NOTHING to do with your blood pressure. It’s a myth.
